A Danish biotechnology startup making sustainable dyes for the fashion industry just raised 3.4 million euros ($4.6 million). Octarine Bio started out focusing on cannabinoid and psilocybin-derived therapeutics but has since pivoted to natural dyes. On top of that, natural dyes don't always work well with synthetic fabrics such as polyester and nylon. Filippo Ganna was in the ideal position at the front and opened up the final sprint but Dainese timed his sprint to perfection to edge out his fellow Italian by milliseconds. De Plus crashed during the opening stage in Barcelona on Saturday and scans revealed he had suffered a fractured hip. "He underwent a range of imaging on an injury sustained to his right hip, which showed a non-displaced fracture," Ineos Grenadiers said in a statement. "A treatment plan for Laurens is currently being finalised and we look forward to him making a full and speedy recovery." The absence of Belgian De Plus is a blow to Ineos Grenadiers general classification contender Geraint Thomas as he would have been a domestique in the many mountain stages to come.

FRANKFURT, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Private equity firm Advent International has finalised negotiations to purchase Saudi Basic Industries Corporation's (2010.SE) (SABIC) polycarbonate sheets business, two sources familiar with the situation told Reuters. The transaction is an add-on acquisition for Advent's existing portfolio business Roehm, with which it plans to develop a multi-polymer business, one of the sources said. An official announcement regarding the sale of the SABIC business, known as 'functional forms', is expected later on Wednesday, the same source added. Polycarbonate sheets are transparent thermoplastics that absorb minimal moisture, making them resistant to impact damage as well as water damage, flames and chemicals. DSM sold its engineering materials for 3.85 billion euros to Advent and German chemicals company Lanxess, announced late in May.
